H2 HD

Rebrand

On September 26, 2011, History International was rebranded as H2, with the new slogan "More 2 History". The newly branded channel will air new original programs, such as the special The Universe: Beyond the Big Bang, as well as new episodes of the History series The Universe and Modern Marvels. The channel will maintain its current focus on documentary and international-themed programming, and does not have plans to add reality television shows as its parent channel has.[2] Newer documentaries more recently seen on History have been brought to the channel in the rebrand, at which will rotate with the HI documentaries that primarily spanned from the mid-1990s to the mid-2000s.

Former programming

Prior to the rebrand, History International also occasionally featured shows in a language other than English, such as French or Spanish for use with the National Cable & Telecommunications Association's Cable in the Classroom initiative. As of 2010, only one hour daily on weekday mornings was dedicated to El Canal de Historia (English: The History Channel), a Spanish language program. It has been removed with the rebrand.
